The Argyle ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Tommy Ledford as the new Executive Director of District Operations during the Monday, July 18 regular meeting. This is a new district leadership position that was added to start the 2022-2023 school year.
Ledford has served the past five years as the Argyle ISD Maintenance Director. Under his leadership, the department has been transformed into a 25-person staff utilized to successfully maintain the needs of the growing district.
"Tommy Ledford is an outstanding choice as the Executive Director of District Operations," Argyle ISD Superintendent Dr. Telena Wright said. "Mr. Ledford has demonstrated a depth of knowledge in maintenance and transportation and will continue to be a true asset to the district in this new role."
This position will oversee the Maintenance, Transportation and Student Nutrition departments. Ledford started in Argyle ISD in 2004 as a teacher/coach before transitioning to the maintenance department role in 2017.
