Argyle High School Hires New Choir Director

Argyle High School has hired Evan Ramos as its new Choir Director.
Ramos has more than 15 years of experience in public education and served as the Carroll Senior High School Assistant Choir Director since 2015. While at Carroll, he directed the varsity tenor-bass choir and the a cappella pop choir along with directing all non-varsity choirs. He also served as the music arranger for the choir pop shows and a cappella competitions.
"I am so excited to be joining the Argyle High School Choir family!" Ramos said. "I look forward to continuing the tradition of passion and excellence that has come to exemplify Argyle Choir."
Ramos will take over the program as Argyle High School moves up to Class 5A beginning this school year.
Ramos also served as the Assistant Choir Director at Rowlett High School (2010-2015) and in Plano ISD at Rice Middle School/Jasper High School and Schimelpfenig/Haggard Middle School (2007-2010). He has a Master of Music, Music Education from SMU and a Bachelor of Music Education, Choral Studies from the University of North Texas.
"We are excited to add Mr. Ramos as our new Choir Director," AHS Principal John King said. "We love his vision for the program and believe that he is the right person to lead us into the world of 5A competitions."
Ramos also serves as the Texas Music Educators Association Region 31 Vocal Technology Chair and is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, American Society of Composers & Publishers, the Texas Choral Directors Association and TMEA.
