The Argyle ISD School Board approved the hiring of Katelyn Johnson as the new Argyle Lady Eagle volleyball coach. Johnson served as a varsity assistant last year at Argyle and replaces Tayrn Hill, who has accepted a position as Assistant Athletic Coordinator/Volleyball Coach at Frisco Panther Creek High School.

"We are excited for Coach Johnson to lead our Lady Eagle program into Class 5A," Argyle ISD Atheltic Director Todd Rodgers said. "She demonstrated the leadership, volleyball experience and relational skills to such a high degree as an assistant that our decision to promote her to head coach was a natural progression."

Johnson helped lead the Lady Eagles to a Class 4A Region I final appearance last year in her first season on staff. She previously served as an assistant at Coppell High School from 2016-2021. Johnson, who played volleyball at Denton High School, also coached club volleyball with the Instinct Volleyball Club.

"I am so honored and feel extremely blessed to serve as the next head volleyball coach at Argyle High School," Johnson said. "Thank you to Coach Rodgers, Coach Westmoreland and the AISD Administration for entrusting me with this incredible opportunity. Argyle volleyball has a rich history of success and I am hoping to continue that tradition of excellence. I am excited to get to work!"
