AISD Cuts Ribbon On New Argyle High School

ribbon cuttingOCTOBER. 27, 2021

It was a great celebration on Wednesday as Argyle ISD hosted a community ribbon-cutting and dedication of Argyle High School Phase II. The campus opened this fall and this event provided an opportunity to officially celebrate its opening and showcase the new space at the campus with the community.

The ribbon-cutting was held in front of the school and the short dedication was held in the new auditorium, which was recently completed. Superintendent Dr. Wright, Board President Sam Slaton, Vice President Dr. John Bitter, Board Secretary Craig Hawkesworth and Principal John King each spoke and the AHS Drumline performed on stage to open the dedication.

"Officially cutting the ribbon on AHS was so exciting," Argyle ISD Superintendent Dr. Telena Wright said. "The vision of AHS as it currently exists began in 2016 when we opened Phase I as a middle school and culminated with the opening of Phase II as the high school. This school will serve the high school students of Argyle very well for many decades."

Following the dedication, members of the AHS Student Council led guests on a tour of the facility. The new space in Phase II includes the auditorium, black box theatre, classroom wing, band hall, choir room, arena and fieldhouse.
