Sample Ballot for the 2025 Bond Election
As part of the upcoming 2025 Bond Election, voters will decide on two important propositions to support the continued growth and development of Argyle Independent School District. Below, you will find the text of both propositions as they will appear on the ballot.
If you'd like to view a full sample ballot specific to your precinct, please visit the Denton County Elections Voter Lookup Tool.
Proposition A:
"Argyle Independent School District Proposition A: The issuance of $393,735,000 of bonds by the Argyle Independent School District for school facilities and the purchase of land, buses, and vehicles, and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds. THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE."
Proposition B:
"Argyle Independent School District Proposition B: The issuance of $29,435,000 of bonds by the Argyle Independent School District for a new baseball and softball complex at Argyle High School in Canyon Falls and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds. THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE"
Understanding the "This is a Property Tax Increase" Statement
State law requires that all bond ballot measures include the language "This is a property tax increase," regardless of whether the tax rate increase, decreases, and is maintained. The 2025 Bond will maintain the current tax rate for Argyle ISD residents, meaning there will be no increase in the overall property tax rate. The bond will be funded within the existing $0.50 cap on the district's Interest & Sinking (I&S) tax rate.
