Argyle ISD Superintendent Dr. Telena Wright is entering her 21st year serving in the district. She has also served as a principal and assistant superintendent.
Under her leadership, Argyle ISD has successfully passed voter-approved bond elections to manage the district's rapid student enrollment growth with the addition of a new high school and new elementary (West Elementary). The third elementary (South Elementary) in Argyle ISD opens in the fall of 2022. The latest voter-approved bond election was in May 2022 and included three propositions that addressed capacity needs for classroom space and additional AHS athletic facilities.
Dr. Wright started in the district as the Argyle High School principal. She has led the district's fast-growth planning as AISD surpassed 4,000 students in the 2021-2022 school year and will move to Class 5A beginning in 2022-2023.
Argyle continues to carry its tradition as one of the most recognized districts across the state. Argyle has also won 12 UIL Lone Star Cup Championships, including a record 10 consecutive. This award is given to the most successful schools in each classification based on academics, athletics and fine art.
