Charging Policy

At AISD Student Nutrition, we take pride in nourishing the students of Argyle ISD and supporting their well-being. Our commitment extends to ensuring that every student receives their meals seamlessly.

To maintain open communication with parents, we employ an efficient system to promptly notify them about any negative balances on their child's account. Upon detection of a negative balance, an automated email will be sent to the primary parent email on file in Family Access. Daily reminders will be sent until the balance is resolved.

For students encountering a negative balance, we offer a supportive grace period allowing them to charge up to 10 regular breakfasts and 10 regular lunch meals. This grace period, lasting two weeks, encompasses a total allowance of $65 for Elementary campuses and $75 for Secondary campuses. During this time, students will not have the ability to charge a la carte or extra items. This approach provides families with ample opportunity to settle outstanding balances or explore available assistance options by reaching out to the Student Nutrition office.

In the event that a student reaches the charge limit, they will receive a courtesy meal. For breakfast, this includes a slice of toast, a piece of fruit, and milk, while for lunch, it consists of a sun butter sandwich, a piece of fruit, and milk.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to utilize our online meal payment system, Schoolcafe, to monitor and manage student balances proactively. Consistent pre-payments help ensure that students can enjoy a diverse range of meal options without interruption.
