The safety of Argyle ISD students and staff is our top priority. We will always respond first to any emergency. Once safety is ensured, we communicate important information to parents and guardians.
Inclement Weather Procedures
Before making decisions about school delays or closures, Argyle ISD collaborates with the National Weather Service, Denton County officials, and neighboring districts. Officials aim to notify staff, students, and parents by 6 a.m.
Factors considered include:
- road conditions and temperatures
- the presence of snow, ice, or sleet
- student driver safety
- sidewalk and parking lot conditions
- staff ability to travel safely
- HVAC and building system operations
- status of neighboring school districts
Severe Weather During School
Campus staff monitor local weather, the National Weather Service, and official alerts throughout the day. Students and staff are moved to secure locations if severe weather occurs.
Parents should not come to school buildings during a storm. Please rely on official communication channels for updates:

Radio & Television Announcements
Official updates may also be broadcast on DFW radio and television, including WBAP 820 AM, KRLD 1080 AM, NBC 5, Fox 4, KTVT Ch. 11, and WFAA Ch. 8.

False reports or inappropriate language regarding school closings or accidents are not tolerated. Please follow the Student Code of Conduct when posting on social media.
