K-9 Program
To support our commitment to trust and a shared responsibility for student safety, the Argyle ISD Police Department utilizes a trained Police K-9 as part of its comprehensive approach to campus safety and student well-being.
The Argyle ISD Police K-9 is not a bite or apprehension dog. Instead, the K-9 is trained in narcotics detection and search and rescue, allowing officers to identify potential concerns early and take a proactive, preventative approach to safety—while remaining focused on care, accountability, and support.
This program is not designed for enforcement alone. Its purpose is to deter unsafe behavior, intervene early when concerns arise, and help maintain safe, welcoming learning environments across all district campuses.
The K-9 is deployed thoughtfully under the direct supervision of a certified handler and may be visible on campuses during patrols, training exercises, educational demonstrations, or special events.
