Welcome to Mrs. Zoda's English Language Arts Class! I am looking forward to a year of reading, writing, learning and fun!
This is my second year teaching at AMS, previously teaching 12 years in Coppell ISD. I'm so excited to be a part of the Argyle family.
My passion in teaching is to not only develop reading and writing skills in my students, but help them develop their social skills as they navigate the middle school environment. My class motto this year is "Be the change you wish to see in the world" (Ghandi). I want each of my students to develop empathy for others through attitudes of kindness and respect. I also want to help them develop a confidence in their own gifts and abilities, whatever they may be! We will be building resilience and "grit"......not giving up when faced with an obstacle, but learning to shift and overcome it!
I am a mother of two boys, ages 26 and 24, and I have walked the path that you, as parents, are on. I want to assure you that all of my decisions in the classroom are based on what is best for my students and I look at each as unique and talented. I try every day to differentiate my teaching to meet the needs of each child as best as I can.
Thank you for entrusting your "treasure" to me. I do not take that responsibility lightly and hope we can work together as a team to help them grow this 6th grade year!
