I grew up in southern Oklahoma on a farm, where my dad raised cattle and grew corn and peanuts. I attended Oklahoma State University (GO POKES!!!), where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and met my wonderful husband, Bryan. My teaching career began in a small Christian school in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where I taught a combined 1st-2nd Grade class.
Bryan and I moved to Bedford, Texas in 1996, where I began teaching 1st Grade in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford school district. After teaching for 2 years in HEB, my husband and I found out that we were expecting our first child. I left my job at that time so that I could stay home while our children were young.
We now have three beautiful children: Erin, who attends Oklahoma State University; Daylen, who attends the University of Colorado Boulder ; and Anderson, who is a student at Argyle Middle School. We moved to Argyle in 2007, and have loved being a part of this close-knit community. In 2010, I entered the University of North Texas to study School Librarianship. I earned my Master's Degree in August of 2012 and began my Librarian career in Denton ISD at E. P. Rayzor Elementary in January of 2013. In 2014, I received the opportunity to serve in my family's school district here in Argyle! I am thrilled to be here, and look forward to getting to know each family in this wonderful community.
