The first day of school for all in-person and virtual learners is Monday, Aug. 17.

No, parents will not be allowed in the building because of visitor restrictions due to COVID-19.
Students may move from in-person instruction to virtual instruction at any time, however the virtual commitment will last for the remainder of the current grading period.
Students who are signed up for virtual instruction must remain committed to virtual instruction for the current grading period.
All students will be required to use hand sanitizer when leaving the school building for the playground and when returning from PE or recess. All playground equipment will be continually wiped and sprayed throughout the day. Teachers will also limit the number of students on the playground area at one time. Masks will not be required of students while on the playground.
Yes, students will have designated teachers for their virtual classes.
All students in grades 4-12 will be required to wear a mask. All teachers and staff will be required to wear a mask or other appropriate PPE.
As a virtual learner, students may participate in UIL extracurricular activities. They will be required to attend the respective class period associated with the activity in order to participate.
Teachers and staff will be required to pass through temperature scanners and self-screen for symptoms before coming onto campus each day. Scanners will be located at the entrances of each campus. Parents will screen children prior to their arrival at school utilizing a self-screening tool which lists symptoms. Students will be required to pass through a temperature scanner at the entrance of each campus building.
AISD will notify parents of students who have been in contact with any positive COVID-19 cases via the district’s notification system.
Yes, attendance is required for all in-person and virtual classes. A student must be in attendance a minimum of 90% of the time in order to receive credit for course or class.
If campuses are closed at any point during the 2020-2021 school year, instruction will take place virtually.
Frequent deep-cleaning practices by the janitorial staff will be instituted. Students will be provided the opportunity to clean their own spaces before and after they are used. Additional cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces will be done of common-touch areas and items. Also, each campus will have an additional employee working with the janitorial staff as a mitigation cleaning specialist. Campuses will be deep-cleaned at the conclusion of each school day.
Yes, remote learning will look quite different than remote learning in the spring of 2020 with requirements consistent with a traditional class setting.

Yes, quarantined students will be required to participate and learn virtually.
The same grading practices will be utilized for virtual students as they are for in-person students.
All students will wear masks in cafeteria until the sit down to eat. Floor markings will be in place for social distancing requirements. Salad bars will not be used, the menus will be reduced and items will be packaged for students. To add money to your student’s meal account, click here. Please do not send meal payments to school with your student.
Yes transportation will be provided. But we are also asking parents, if they have the capability, to transport their children to campus. All bus drivers will be required to wear a face that covers the nose and mouth while driving. Students in the 4th grade and higher will be required to wear a face make upon boarding the bus. Students will also be required to use hand sanitizer prior to boarding the bus. Read the full list of bus guidelines by clicking here.
Yes. It isn't likely the students can stay 6 ft away from each other, so masks will be worn at all times when inside the building. Face shields and gaiters are considered masks. Students do not have to wear a mask under a face shield if they are within 6 ft of another person. Wearing a mask under a face shield is safer, but not required.
Give them a mask or face shield. We have plenty already on campus. They will be distributed along with hand sanitizer, etc. before students arrive.
