My name is Emily Thomas and this 2020-2021 will be my XXth year in education. I have taught public school, private school, homeschool, and university. I have taught French for most of those years but can and have also taught history.
I taught in Argyle ISD previously and am so very excited to be back home. I have two children who went to Argyle and they are both now at university. They did take French with me when they were in high school but the only words they remember are words like "arrête" and "tais-toi." ;-)
I have a BS in Education and an MA in French from UNT. I have traveled extensively in France and lived in Normandy during my graduate work. I still love to travel but have not been able to do much traveling this year.
In addition to traveling I love to read. My favorite book is Le Petit Prince by Antoine de St-Exupéry. If I had to choose a favorite author it would have to be Francine Rivers. Some books I have read this year (not by Francine Rivers) include Kiffe Kiffe Demain, Educated, Book of Signs, Betrayal in Death, and Cold Cold Heart.
I also love to run and being outdoors. If I can run outside without dying in the heat, that is what I prefer. I also like strength training but am having to rethink how I do that since going to the gym has become problematic.
I look forward to getting to know you and know we will have a wonderful year. If you ever have any questions or concerns the best way to reach me is via email. If you prefer a phone conversation please let me know that in your email and we can arrange a time.
Veuillez accepter l’assurance de mes sentiments distingués.
