My name is Amber Finn and I am so thrilled to be here teaching art in Argyle.
A little about me. First I am a mother to an amazing young son who is currently in the Pre-K program at Hilltop. He is the reason I am who I am today, I am sure all of you with children here can relate to that.
I graduated Cum Laude from The University of North Texas in December of 2017 and am currently certified to teach art for kindergarten all the way to seniors in high school. While working on my degree I was lucky to be placed here in Argyle for both my student observations and for my student teaching. While this is my first official year teaching, I have been in Argyle for a little while now. And boy am I happy to be here!
This year in art, your student will be doing amazing things. We will learn about color theory, drawing techniques, the elements and principles of art and design, clay and sculpting techniques, and the list goes on. We will also study a wide array of artists and art historic time periods as well as art styles and cultures from around the world. At the same time, I will be pulling in mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies for meaningful cross curricular connections. It is my main goal that all students will leave my art classroom with a strong capability to solve problems creatively, which is highly a sought after skill in today's world.
I am excited for this year and am ready to teach these students all of the amazing qualities art has to offer!
