The AHS Theatre Department recently attended the Thespians State Festival in Grapevine. In all, 32 students attended and almost all competed in various events or auditioned for colleges. We had some fantastic results! All four of our performance pieces qualified for Nationals, which will be held this summer in Indiana. Congratulations Eagles!

FOOTBALL ADVANCES TO REGIONAL FINALS

Congratulations to our Varsity Football Team on defeating Brownwood last Friday afternoon 42-14. They now advance to the Regional Final Round to play Waco La Vega. The game is set for this Friday, December 6, at 7:00 p.m. at McLane Stadium on the Baylor University campus. Good luck Eagles!

CONGRESSIONAL DEBATE TEAM HEADED TO STATE

The UIL Debate team competed at the Region UIL Congressional Debate. Savanna Lessley placed 1st qualifying for state, Billy Mykel placed 3rd qualifying for state, and Joseph Thompson placed 4th and is 1st alternate to state! VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS GREENWOOD IN AREA PLAYOFFS

The Lady Eagles swept Midland Greenwood 25-11, 25-11, 25-12 to claim the Area Championship on Thursday night in Abilene. The Lady Eagles now advance to the Regional Quarterfinal Round to play Stephenville. The game will be played on Tuesday night at 7:30 at the Weatherford 9th Grade Center. OCTOBER "DIFFERENCE MAKER" AWARD

We would like to announce that Mrs. Marla Warden has won the AHS "Difference Maker Award" for the month of October. Mrs. Kim Reding, Realtor at Magnolia Realty in Argyle, is the Argyle High School Difference Maker Award sponsor for the school year. Mrs. Warden was nominated by her peers. GIRLS' CROSS COUNTRY STATE BOUND

Congratulations to Coach Greg Martin and his Lady Eagle Cross Country Team on taking second place at the Region I-4A Cross Country Meet in Lubbock. The team now advances to the State Meet in Round Rock on Nov 9. The team is made up of the following runners: Lanie Rodgers, Alli Johnson, Amaris McCasland, Avery Junk, Claire Dalling, Avery Doyle, and Jenny Roehrs. Good luck at State!!

TEAM TENNIS ADVANCES TO REGIONAL FINALS

The 2019-20 AHS Team Tennis Team won the Regional Semi-Final Championship today 10-5 over Kilgore. The team now advances to the Regional Final Round on Friday to play the winner of Anna and Willis Point. Congratulations and good luck to our Team Tennis.
