JULY 9. 2020
Beginning Monday, July 13, all Argyle ISD student-athletes and coaches will be required to wear face coverings during portions of summer conditioning and sports-specific drills.
This new requirement was issued Wednesday morning by the University Interscholastic League and becomes effective for all Eagles returning for workouts on Monday. This week, student-athletes conducted workouts virtually as AISD followed a recommendation by the UIL following the July 4th holiday.
Per these new requirements, coaches will wear face coverings at all times and student-athletes will be required to wear them upon arrival, during station transitions, while in weight rooms and when departing for the day. Student-athletes will be allowed to remove face coverings during conditioning drills, but must replace them when moving to a new station and when not participating in workouts inside Argyle High School. These conditioning and skills workouts are optional for Eagle student-athletes and virtual training can be provided.
Eagle coaches and student-athletes continue to follow strict safety guidelines with daily health screenings and distancing procedures during workouts and sports-specific drills at AHS. Argyle ISD continues to closely monitor CDC guidance and regularly evaluates safety procedures in place and facilities are regularly cleaned before, during and after workouts. We ask that you monitor your student for any possible symptoms that may be related to COVID-19. If you notice that symptoms occur, please contact your physician and follow all medical guidelines and recommendations. Argyle ISD requires parents/guardians to report any primary exposure immediately to district officials.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Aaron Fowler, AISD Head Athletic Trainer or Coach Rodgers, AISD Athletic Director.
