Argyle ISD is delaying the restart of in-person summer conditioning and sports-specific workouts until Monday, July 13, following the University Interscholastic League's recommendation this week. Workouts were not held this week as part of the original summer schedule.
The decision to suspend workouts follows the UIL recommendation based on the upcoming July 4th weekend and the expected increase in social activity and potential for COVID-19 exposure. Argyle High School coaches will conduct virtual summer conditioning workouts only during the week of July 6-9 and will communicate to the student-athletes through the SportsYou and TeamBuildr platforms. In-person summer conditioning and sports-specific skills training are scheduled to resume the weeks of July 13-16 and July 20-23.
Additionally, Eagle student-athletes will train July 27-30 to make up for next week's missed in-person summer conditioning.
Eagle coaches and student-athletes continue to follow strict safety guidelines with daily health screenings and distancing procedures during workouts and sports-specific drills at AHS. Argyle ISD continues to closely monitor CDC guidance and regularly evaluates safety procedures in place and facilities are regularly cleaned before, during and after workouts.
