School Board Approves New Middle School Principal

The Argyle ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Whitney Wheeler as the principal of the district’s new middle school, scheduled to open in the fall of 2026.

Wheeler brings more than a decade of administrative leadership experience to Argyle ISD, having served for the past four school years at Durham Intermediate School in Carroll ISD. She also played a key leadership role in the opening of Marine Creek Middle School while serving in Eagle Mountain ISD. In her new role, Wheeler will lead the planning, opening, and staffing of Argyle ISD’s second middle school, located on FM 407.

A highly respected instructional leader, Wheeler is known for her passion for empowering both students and educators. She is an award-winning administrator and teacher who values strategic planning, collaboration, and the development of strong school cultures focused on academic excellence and student success.

Wheeler was named the 2022 Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Professional Employee of the Year and was previously recognized as South Keller Intermediate Teacher of the Year in 2012. She is a graduate of TCU, holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Wesleyan University, and is working toward her doctorate at Dallas Baptist University.

Wheeler is expected to join Argyle ISD in early February 2026. The new middle school will serve all 7th–8th-grade students in the district’s West Zone.
