Madison Fairchild Named Argyle ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Argyle South Elementary 5th-grade teacher Maddie Fairchild, who has been named the 2025–2026 Argyle ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year.

There are educators who teach a subject, and then there are educators who transform the way a child sees themselves.

This year's Elementary Teacher of the Year, Maddie Fairchild from Argyle South, is the latter. In her 5th-grade classroom, she holds every student, regardless of ability or background, to the highest standard, and then she does whatever it takes to make sure each one can rise to meet it.

In a co-taught classroom that blended advanced learners, special education students, and on-level readers, she crafted intentional, layered lessons that challenged her strongest students while ensuring no one was left behind. The results were remarkable. Students who had never passed grade-level assessments before were succeeding. But what she is most proud of is something no data point can fully capture: the moment her students began to believe in themselves.

That same warmth and intentionality extend far beyond her classroom door. She is the teacher who knows your name in the hallway, who gives you a hug at dismissal, and who makes you feel like you matter.

She reimagined her school's morning announcements into a vibrant, weekly celebration of the people, cultures, and moments that make their community unique, ensuring every student saw a reflection of themselves in the school they call home. She is the kind of teacher students carry with them long after they leave her classroom.

Congratulations, Mrs. Fairchild!
