January marks School Board Appreciation Month across the state.

Each year, Argyle ISD honors and recognizes the tireless efforts of its Board of Trustees and the work they do in leading the district.

This year’s recognition theme is "Leadership for Tomorrow’s Texas."

The Argyle ISD School Board consists of seven trustees responsible for adopting district goals and priorities and monitoring success. They also adopt and review policies, hire and evaluate the Superintendent, approve the annual budget, set the school tax rate, and maintain communication with the community.

The School Board holds regular monthly meetings at the Argyle ISD Dr. Telena L. Wright Administration Building. The current serving members of the Board of Trustees are:

  • Board President Sam Slaton
  • Vice President Craig Hawkesworth
  • Secretary Matt Slaton
  • Josh Westrom
  • Dr. Leona McDade
  • Rich McDowell
  • Leigh Ann Artho
