Argyle Theatre Department Achieves Historic Success at Texas Thespians State Festival

We are thrilled to share the phenomenal news regarding the Argyle High School Theatre Department’s performance at the recent Texas Thespians State Festival. This past weekend was truly historic, showcasing the talent, dedication, and passion of our students on the state's biggest stage.
A total of 48 students attended the festival, representing Argyle with pride and professionalism.
A Triumphant Path to Nationals
Our students excelled in the competitive Individual Events (IE) category, leading to outstanding National qualification results:
- 15 Individual Events were entered.
- 11 events qualified for Nationals, held this summer in Indiana.

- Franklin Arrington & Morgan Kempton – Duet Musical
- Jevan Casten & Sophia Burkhart – Duet Musical
- Lorelei Leuschner – Prop Construction
Additionally, three senior students auditioned for colleges and received numerous callbacks, opening doors to their future theatrical careers.
Historic Closing Ceremony Performance
Franklin & Morgan received a perfect score on their Individual Event selection and were invited to perform at the prestigious Closing Ceremonies in front of thousands of peers and educators. This is the first time an Argyle IE has been recognized at this elite level—a major milestone for our growing program.
Production Excellence: Waiting in the Wings
The department also performed its full production of Waiting in the Wings on the MainStage—AHS’s first time being selected for this honor. The performance earned multiple competitive awards:
