Dear Argyle ISD Families,

As we prepare for the start of the new school year, we want to make you aware of a revision to the Argyle ISD Chromebook Guidelines for students in grades 6–8, which were provided during the registration process.

We recognize that some families may have referenced an earlier version of the Chromebook Guidelines. We are sharing this update to ensure all parents have the most current information as we begin the school year.

In an earlier version of the guidelines, there was an "At Home" section for all students in grades 6–12. That document has now been updated to reflect the district's revised expectations for student Chromebook use in grades 6–8.

Beginning this school year:

• Students in grades 6–8 will not be assigned an individual Chromebook. All student devices will remain at school and will not be sent home.
• Student Chromebooks will be stored securely in classrooms and used at the classroom teacher's direction and discretion to support instruction.
• Students in grades 9–12 will continue to follow the existing high school Chromebook procedures.

This update aligns with the district's commitment to our Technology Commitments to the Community and our instructional focus on providing balanced, purposeful technology use while emphasizing hands-on, minds-on learning experiences.
