Argyle ISD Finalizes Land Purchase

Argyle ISD has finalized the purchase of 50 acres in Argyle to support future growth and long-range facility planning in the district.

The property is located on the north side of Harpole Road within the White Rock Farm Addition and is designated as the future Argyle Middle School serving the district’s East Zone. The Argyle ISD Board of Trustees authorized the district to proceed with the purchase during its November regular meeting.

The property was purchased using 2025 bond funds approved by voters through Proposition A. Funding for land acquisitions was identified as a priority by the community-led Bond & Growth Planning Committee, which helped develop the 2025 bond proposal.

This purchase marks the third property acquired by Argyle ISD as part of its long-term growth strategy using bond funding. Most recently, the district purchased 128 acres in Northlake, also using 2025 bond funds, located on the south side of Robson Ranch Road in the northwest section of the district. Argyle ISD also owns 50 acres in Furst Ranch along the east frontage of U.S. Highway 377, designated for a future elementary and middle school campus.

“As Argyle continues to grow, planning ahead to support our students, families, and community is essential,” said Argyle ISD Superintendent Dr. Courtney Carpenter. “Securing land ensures we are prepared to meet the needs of future students while providing long-term flexibility for district leaders and boards who will steward these decisions for many years to come.”

Argyle ISD is projected to grow to nearly 10,000 students by 2030, underscoring the importance of proactive planning and strong community partnership as the district continues to expand.

The district will open Scott Gibson Middle School in 2026 and Michael Ball Elementary in 2027, both located on 50 acres on the north side of FM 407. In the 2027–2028 school year, the current Argyle Middle School will become Argyle Legacy High School, the district’s second high school campus.

The new Argyle Middle School is projected to open in the 2029–2030 school year at its Harpole Road location.
