ARGYLE ISD CLOSED TUESDAY, JAN. 27, 2026 DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
Christopher Sayler

Argyle ISD Families & Staff,

Argyle ISD schools will remain CLOSED on Tuesday, Jan. 27, due to the continued freezing temperatures and dangerous road and campus conditions.

While it is not typical to make school closure determinations this early, the latest guidance from the National Weather Service and Denton County Emergency Operations indicates that the freezing precipitation our area received overnight is significant enough to fully melt only with several hours of sustained above-freezing temperatures.

Temperatures are not expected to rise above freezing until Tuesday afternoon at the earliest. As a result, roads and walkways are expected to remain unsafe through at least Tuesday.

All after-school activities are canceled for Monday and Tuesday, and all campus and facilities will remain closed until further notice.

Tuesday’s Argyle High School district basketball and soccer games are being rescheduled, and we will share those updates as soon as they become available. Coaches and student group leaders will communicate with their students and families directly regarding schedule updates.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these weather conditions together. Please continue to follow AISD’s social media accounts for important weather-related updates and potential schedule changes.

Please continue to stay safe and warm, Eagles!
