Argyle ISD is proud to announce that at tonight’s meeting, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 2025–2026 Teacher and Staff Compensation Plan—a major step forward in our continued commitment to valuing and retaining high-quality educators.
This action comes as part of a multi-phase effort that began earlier this spring when the district hosted a series of listening workshops with teachers and staff. These sessions gave team members a direct voice in shaping budget priorities.
Key themes that emerged included:
- Adding classroom teaching positions to help reduce class sizes
- Restoring support staff positions that were cut during the 2024–2025 school year
- Increasing compensation for teachers and staff
We’re proud to share that the Board of Trustees addressed the first two priorities in April, approving over 35 new teaching positions and the reinstatement of key support staff roles to meet campus needs and reduce strain on educators.
Since that time, Argyle ISD has continued working toward the third priority—compensation. Last week, Governor Abbott signed into law HB2, a historic bill that invests $8.5 billion into public education and provides significant pay increases for classroom teachers statewide. Argyle ISD has closely followed developments surrounding this bill and the additional funding it will bring to our district.
Through a series of public board budget workshops, the administration and trustees reviewed available funding, district needs, and staff input. We are pleased to now share that a comprehensive compensation package has been approved for all staff for the 2025–2026 school year. This package is designed to recognize the vital contributions of our employees and support retention across all departments.
Details about the 2025–2026 Compensation Plan include:
- Classroom Teachers with 0-2 years of completed experience will receive $2,100 raise (3.5%)
- Classroom Teachers with 3-4 years of completed experience will receive $2,500 raise (≈4%)
- Classroom Teachers with ≥5 years of completed experience will receive $5,000 raise (≈8%)
- All Other Staff will receive a 3.5% raise of the midpoint for pay range
We extend our sincere gratitude to our teachers and staff for your continued input and engagement, and to the Board of Trustees for their unwavering commitment to prioritizing those who are the heart of our district! Your feedback shaped these decisions, and your dedication drives Argyle ISD forward.
Sincerely,
Courtney Carpenter
