Argyle ISD has received special recognition for the 22nd year from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for its financial stewardship.
The district earned an “A” for Superior Achievement under the Texas’ FIRST Financial Accountability Rating System. This rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of AISD’s financial management and reporting system for over two decades.
Argyle ISD Chief Financial Officer Liz Stewart presented the FIRST Report for the 2023-2024 school year to the Board of Trustees during the regular Board meeting on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024.
“We congratulate Mrs. Stewart and the Finance department in Argyle ISD for its recent “A” FIRST rating,” School Board President Sam Slaton said. “For over two decades, this district has exemplified financial management practices and has been awarded the highest honor in each of those years. Mrs. Stewart and her team continue to model financial accountability and transparency within the education system in Texas. Congratulations again, and thank you for your dedication.”
The Texas Education Agency assigns one of four financial accountability ratings to Texas school districts: A for Superior Achievement, B for Above Standard Achievement, C for Standard Achievement, and F for Substandard Achievement.
The evaluation covers 15 indicators of financial health, including administrative cost ratios, the accuracy of financial information submitted to the state, and the district's ability to meet its financial obligations. The district scored 94 out of 100 (Superior Achievement 90-100).
“This recognition is another outstanding achievement for a Finance department that excels in financial accountability and reporting,” Argyle ISD Superintendent Dr. Courtney Carpenter said. “Our esteemed reputation for fiscal responsibility is a long-standing point of pride in AISD.”
