Athletics
Will there be separate baseball and softball programs for each high school?
Yes. Both high schools will ultimately have their own baseball and softball programs. The long-term plan is for the 377 campus to use its own dedicated facilities once renovations and capital improvements are complete. The district is coordinating construction so the Canyon Falls complex is ready for full use, allowing the 377 facilities to serve only 377 students moving forward.
How will middle school athletic districts be aligned for the East Zone campus?
The Athletic Director is actively reviewing district alignment options with current partners and exploring alignment with smaller 3A or 4A districts if that better matches student enrollment. A final decision will be made after UIL realignment.
Will 377 High School have varsity football when it opens?
No. The 377 campus will open with 9th and 10th graders only, during a UIL “mid-alignment” year. Because of this, there will be no varsity football during the first year. Varsity football will begin the following year after UIL realignment. All other sports may request varsity status earlier if participation numbers support it.
Will 6th-grade girls be able to play middle school soccer at the 377 campus?
No. Girls’ soccer will continue to be offered only at the 7th and 8th-grade levels, consistent with the current model.
What UIL classification will 377 High School have when it opens?
Exact classification cannot be guaranteed because UIL updates numbers annually. Based on current projections, the 377 campus is expected to open as a large 3A or small 4A and stabilize at 4A once fully built out.
Will the opening of 377 change Argyle High School’s classification?
No immediate change is expected. Based on current enrollment projections, Argyle High School is anticipated to remain a 5A campus for the foreseeable future.
What extracurricular activities and electives will be available at 377 High School?
The district’s goal is for both high schools to eventually offer the same activities and electives. During the transition period, students at 377 may be allowed to attend certain classes at Argyle High School to ensure access to full academic and elective opportunities.
What competition levels will students at 377 participate in?
Fine Arts, Band, and UIL Academics: Students will compete at the highest level available starting the first year.
Football: No varsity the first year; varsity begins after UIL realignment.
All Other Sports: Sub-varsity and varsity opportunities will be offered based on participation numbers and UIL approval.
How will students try out for activities at 377 before it officially opens?
Tryouts will follow the same timeline as Argyle High School. Students who plan to attend 377 will receive all necessary tryout information during the year prior to opening.
What is the overall athletics plan for the first year of 377 High School?
The school opens with 9th and 10th graders only. Football varsity must wait one year due to UIL rules. Other sports may request varsity status immediately. Freshman and JV teams will depend on enrollment and participation. The district has worked closely with UIL and with districts that have successfully completed similar transitions to ensure a smooth and competitive launch.
Fine Arts
What UIL classification will 377 High School have when it opens?

What extracurricular activities and electives will be available to students at 377 High School?
The district’s long-term goal is for both high schools to offer the same activities and electives. Opening Configuration & Transfers
Will 377 High School open with all four grade levels?
No. The campus will open with freshmen and sophomores only. As those students progress, upper grade levels will be added. All four high school grade levels are projected to be established by the 2029–30 school year. An alternative configuration has been studied that would allow freshmen to open at 377 while giving sophomores and juniors the option to remain at Argyle High School or move to 377. That model presents several logistical challenges and has not been finalized.
Will students be allowed to choose whether they move to the new high school?
Students who are zoned to the 377 attendance area are expected to attend that campus once it opens. However, updated demographic reports will continue to be reviewed prior to final decisions. These reports will help determine whether any grade-level flexibility may be possible. The district’s priority is to best support students while balancing enrollment and maintaining strong academic and extracurricular programs.
How will middle school students be separated from high school students while they share the 377 campus?
The district is carefully planning for the appropriate separation of middle school and high school students during the years they share the 377 campus. The building will feature designated middle school and high school wings, each with separate administrative teams. While some elective spaces may be shared, students will travel the halls at different times due to separate bell schedules. Lunch periods will be separate, arrival and dismissal times will be offset, and bathrooms will be assigned by wing. This campus successfully operated with this separation model for many years in the past, providing a safe and effective learning environment.
Will the Sixth Grade Center continue to serve only sixth-grade students after the new middle school opens?
Yes. The current Sixth Grade Center will continue to serve sixth-grade students in the western zone paired with the middle school located at FM 407.
Will both middle school and high school students permanently remain at the 377 campus?
No. The shared campus arrangement is temporary. During the transition years, the campus will house both middle and high school students. Once the new middle school is constructed, middle school students will relocate to that facility, and the 377 campus will serve high school students only.
What grade levels will be located at the 377 campus during each transition year?
During the first transition year, the campus will serve grades 6–8 and 9–10. The following year, it will serve grades 6–8 and 9–11. Once the new middle school opens, grades 6–8 will move to that campus, and the 377 location will serve grades 9–12 only.
What will the new high school schedule and bell times be?
Bell schedules and start/end times are expected to remain very similar to the current high school schedule. Final details will be communicated to families well in advance of the campus opening.
Academics
Can my child still participate in the firefighter program at the new high school?
Yes. The district partners with the Denton ISD LaGrone Center for this CTE program and intends to continue that partnership when the second high school opens.
What extracurricular activities and electives will be available to students at 377 High School?
The district’s long-term goal is for both high schools to offer the same activities and electives. During the transition period, students at 377 may be permitted to attend certain classes at Argyle High School to ensure immediate access to all academic and elective opportunities. This approach is commonly used by districts transitioning to multiple high school campuses.
Will elective class options be the same at both high schools?
Learner Services transition teams are actively planning the course selection process. Elective offerings are expected to be available at both campuses, with final course availability determined by student interest during registration. In previous district splits, distance learning was used to offer electives with low enrollment, and that model may be used here as well.
Additionally, new state legislation (SB 569) will allow Texas districts to offer full-time and hybrid virtual programs beginning in the coming years. This expanded flexibility is expected to increase access to a wider range of courses for students at both campuses.
Will both high schools offer the same AP classes after rezoning?
Yes. The district intends to offer AP courses at both high schools. Availability will depend on student demand, and new state virtual learning options may provide additional flexibility in how advanced courses are delivered.
What technology resources and support will be available to students at the 377 High School campus?
Both high schools will provide the same student technology devices, and the technology department will continue to support students and teachers with all technology-related needs.
Staffing
When will staff be hired, and can current staff transfer to the new 377 High School?
Most staff will be hired during the 2026–27 school year. Current staff members may apply through the same internal transfer process that is currently used for elementary campuses. The district will communicate details of that process once positions are ready to be filled.
Will the district hire new teachers for the new high school, or will existing teachers be transferred?
The district will use a combination of new hires and existing teachers. Staffing decisions will be based on campus needs, qualifications, and subject-area expertise.
How will class sizes be managed at the new high school?
The district is committed to maintaining reasonable class sizes to support effective learning. Established class size guidelines and management strategies will be used to promote a strong instructional environment.
Parents & Community Engagement
Will there be an open house or orientation event before the new campuses open?
Yes. The future campus administrations will organize open house and orientation events to give parents and students the opportunity to visit and become familiar with the 407 Middle School and the 377 Middle School/High School campuses.
How can parents and community members get involved in the transition to the new high school?
Parents and community members are encouraged to stay informed through district communications and school board meetings, where updates on curriculum, facilities, and extracurricular programs will continue to be shared.
Will there be opportunities for community partnerships and involvement with the 377 Campus?
Yes. The district values community involvement and will explore opportunities for partnerships, mentorships, and collaborative projects that benefit both students and the greater AISD community.
