COVID-19 Guidelines 2022-2023

  • Argyle ISD COVID 2022-2023

    • Parents should continue to pre-screen and monitor their children for all COVID-19 symptoms before sending them to school.

    • Virtual learning will NOT be offered. 

    • If a student is absent due to lab-confirmed COVID-19 or experiencing multiple symptoms, assignments can be accessed via Google classroom when appropriate. The absences WILL be counted.

    • A doctor’s clearance for UIL is no longer required. 

    • District and campus events will NOT have restricted capacity or seating guidelines.

    • Argyle ISD will continue to monitor the latest information from the Texas Education Agency, Denton County Public Health and make informed adjustments to guidelines as needed.

    • A picture of COVID-19 self-tests performed at home must be emailed to your campus nurse and include the name, date of test and date of birth of the test subject

    • No student or staff may return to campus if they have pending COVID-19 test results.

      • If one has a rapid test and is also waiting for the results of a PCR test, confirmation of both labs will be needed to return to campus.

     

    COVID-19 POSITIVE WITH SYMPTOMS

    Students/Staff who test positive for COVID-19 cannot attend school until they’ve been isolated for 5 days from the date of symptoms. The first day of symptom onset is considered day 0. 

    A copy of the test result must be submitted to the campus nurse. The student/staff name should be visible if submitting a home test.

    Example: Symptoms began 8/1/22 (day zero). COVID-19 test was collected on 8/3/22 with a positive result.  Return to campus would be 8/7/22 as long as fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever suppressing medications ie: Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, Dayquil, Nyquil, Cold Medicine etc. Other symptoms must be improved. A fever is 100.0 F and higher.

     

    COVID-19 POSITIVE WITHOUT SYMPTOMS

    Students/Staff who test positive for COVID19 but do not have any symptoms must stay home for 5 days after the day they were tested. Day of the test collection is day 0. 

    Example: Date of test 8/1/22 (day zero), may return 8/7/2022.

     

    STUDENT/STAFF SENT HOME WITH SYMPTOMS AND DECIDE NOT TO TEST FOR COVID-19

    Students/Staff with multiple symptoms will follow COVID-19 protocol at the discretion of the campus nurse. 

    When sent home with multiple symptoms, they must stay home at least 5 days from symptom onset.  They must then be fever free and have improvement of other symptoms before returning to school. The first day of symptom onset is considered day 0. 

    Example: Symptoms began 8/1/22 (day zero). Return to campus would be 8/7/22 as long as fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever suppressing medications ie: Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, Dayquil, Nyquil, Cold Medicine etc. Other symptoms must be improved. A fever is considered to be a temperature of 100.0 F and higher.

    PARENT WHO CHOOSES TO QUARANTINE A WELL STUDENT DUE TO COVID-19 EXPOSURE

    Quarantine of a well child due to direct exposure will last for 5 days. The day of the positive person’s test is day zero. The student may return the day following the 5th quarantine day. A copy of the confirmed test from the positive household member must be submitted to the campus nurse. 

    Example: Positive test collected on  8/1/22 (day zero). Return to campus would be 8/7/22.
