We
have several things to be excited about this
week. The 5th and 6th grade campus now has an
official name. The school board unanimously
voted to name the school: Argyle Intermediate
School. Teachers, parents, and community
members recommended this name and then I presented
it to the school board at Monday’s meeting.
We can also celebrate the fact that the demolition
crew began work on Wednesday morning. Demolition
will be completed in approximately four weeks.
At which time we should begin to see the school
transform from a state of disarray to one where
parents, teachers, and students can be excited
to attend.
Parents,
students, and teachers can all celebrate how
well our students have done on the recent TAKS
test. I know that this tradition of success
will carry over to our new campus. Please continue
to encourage your child to stay focused through
the remainder of the school year.
The
PTA will be meeting on Tuesday, April 29th at
8:15 AM, at the administration building to elect
officers. I encourage you to not only attend
this meeting but to join the PTA if you are
not already a member.
Argyle
Intermediate School will be having a “Meet
the Staff Night” on May 29th, at 5:30
PM. We will meet at Hilltop Elementary in the
cafeteria. The purpose of this meeting is to
introduce the staff for next year, give an update
on construction, and have a short question and
answer session. We will have a traditional “Open
House” at Argyle Intermediate once construction
is completed and before the start of the school
year.
Registration
packets and a parent letter will be sent home
with the 5th graders after all of the TAKS Test
are completed. The 4th graders have already
completed their registration packets.
