Compulsory Attendance
School Districts must investigate and report violations of the state compulsory attendance law. A court of law may also impose penalties against both the student and his or her parents if a school-aged student is deliberately not attending school.
A complaint against the parent and /or student may be filed in court if the student:
• Is absent from school on ten or more days or parts of days within a six-month period in the same school year, or
• Is absent on three or more days or parts of days within a four-week period.
If a student between the ages of 12 and 18 violates the compulsory attendance law,
both the parent and student could be charged with a criminal offense

The Talon HS Newspaper - Advertising
Welcome back to a great year. The Talon news staff will again offer advertising space in the high school paper for our area businesses. Please consider supporting the paper and placing an ad in one or all of our issues this year. Also, at the end of the year we will also have our full color senior commemorative edition of the paper where parents of graduating seniors are encouraged to place an ad for their graduate. Ad rates can be found on the HS website; or, you can use the attached contract. Prices have been reduced this year and start as low as $20 per issue for a business card size. We look forward to your business.
A viewing donation/fee of $9.95 will be charged (which can be paid via credit or debit card at your
time of viewing). Donation/fee will allow you to watch – but also to raise funds to help our school whileenhancing our student’s education. TO PURCHASE DVDS : Simply click on and send a request for a copy of the graduation DVD to argylegraduation2011@icblive.com . Once the email request has been made, the production department will be in contact with you to get the order completed and shipped. The total cost of the DVD is $25.
