If
you see any of the varsity tennis players be sure to
congratulate them on their District Tournament. Both
boys and girls captured the Team Championship Trophy.
We had 15 of the 16 varsity tennis players advance to
the semi-finals. Several of these players went in unranked
and knocked off one of the top four seeds to advance
this far.
Individually we had seven district champions, including
Sam Howell/ Andrew Miller boys doubles (who did not
loss a game the entire tournament), Mary Bowman/Emily
Hayward girls doubles, Aaron Mesta/ Madde Webbe mixed
doubles, and Catherine Pettibon girls singles. Erik
Katzen won second place boys singles.
All eight of these players will advance to play in the
the regional tournament in Odessa. Mereidith Devine,
Andrea Beathard, Blake Miller, Daniel Alderson, Andrew
Morrison, and Jana Wold all captured 3rd place finishes
and will be alternates for the Regional Tournament.
Erin O'connor beat the #1 seed in the second round and
finished 4th in girls singles. We had 14- 1st team All-District
winners and 1- 2nd team All-District recipient.
