| Importance
of Attendance: |
Bear
in mind how important it is for your children to attend
school
each and every day.
The impact of one child missing one
day of school last year would have been a reduction
in state funding of $24.00 and an increase in Chapter
41 payment of $43.00 for a total net loss of $67.00.
Last
year we had 11,118 absences district wide. If we would
have had perfect attendance, we would have seen an increase
in state funding of $186,762 and a reduction in our
chapter 41 payment of $344,894 for a net gain of $531,656.
We
had 1710 students last year. If every student had just
one less absence for the whole year, we would have seen
an increase in our funding of $12,316 and a reduction
of our Chapter 41 payment by $22,743 for a net gain
of $35,059.
Medical
appointments do not count against attendance if the
child
is present part of the day.
Please
make certain that the attendance clerk knows when your
child is absent for medical purposes.
Thank
you for recognizing the importance of attendance and
helping with this effort.
